How is everyone doing? I personally am just trying to hang in there and I want to encourage anyone out there who may be feeling down and out about the current hardship we are currently facing in the country. It will be fine!
Today, I want you to get familiar with Coconut oil. Some of you may already be using Coconut oil as part of your skincare regimen, but for the benefit of those who don’t, I will list 10 beauty uses of coconut oil.
Coconut oil is derived from coconuts (duhhhh LOL). It can be used in cooking, but seeing that this is a beauty blog and not a food blog, I’ll limit the uses of coconut oil to beauty alone. Including coconut oil in my skincare regimen is one of the best decisions I made and I want to share with you as always and yes men can and should use coconut oil. 🙂 . Lets get into the uses shall we?
As a moisturizer
Coconut oil naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and it penetrates the skin very easily which makes it suitable to use all over the body. You can also carry it in your bag to soothe dry hands.
As a cheekbone highlighter
Nothing wakes up a tired face like a highlighter, but you don’t need to break the bank to achieve the same effect. Gently apply a small amount of coconut oil on top of your cheekbones after applying your makeup and leave it alone. It will make your skin glow.
To shave your legs
Don’t we just hate that tingly feeling we get after shaving? Well, using coconut oil as a shaving cream and after shaving cream can prevent that. Your legs will thank you for it.
As a deep conditioner
I apply coconut oil on my hair almost everyday and I also use it as a deep conditioner. As I mentioned earlier, it easily penetrates the skin and the scalp isn’t left out. Coconut oil can help with hair growth too but don’t take my word for it, try it!
As an eye makeup remover
Coconut oil can remove the most stubborn eyeliner! Put a little on a cotton ball and gently wipe your eye makeup. Don’t forget under your eyes too. Once you are done, wash your face. Yes! wash your face every night ladies.
In a body scrub
I have a previous post on body scrubs. If you decide to make your own body scrub, you can include coconut oil as a base. It is moisturizing and great for the skin. The smell is also divine.
As a massage oil
*Wink* 🙂 Coconut oil is slippery and and skin friendly.
That’s it for today guys. As usual, sharing is caring. Share your coconut oil stories with me. I’d love to hear them. Have a blessed week. Be kind to yourselves and others.
Kiky’s tip of the day: To achieve a matte lip when you don’t have a matte lipstick, lightly dust a translucent (colourless) powder over your lipstick. By translucent I mean your *baby powder* in layman terms. :).
