How are you doing? I am sorry for my brief absence but i’m back in full blogging swing now. I missed you guys 🙂
So today, I will be talking about Body Scrubs. What are body scrubs? and why is it important to incorporate it into your skincare regimen?
A Body Scrub is a body treatment that is like a facial for the body. It exfoliates and hydrates your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. A Body Scrub is done with an abrasive material such as Salt, Sugar, Coffee grounds, Rice bran, and usually mixed with some kind of oil e.g Olive,Coconut and Argan oils. If the scrub uses salt, it might be called a salt scrub or sea salt scrub and if used with sugar, it might be called a sugar scrub or sugar body polish…. (same thing).
You can also make your own body scrubs. I prefer to make mine, not because there is anything wrong in buying store bought scrubs, I just find that making my own body scrubs makes me feel like i know exactly what is in it and hence more natural. There are so many types of body scrubs to choose from and they include:
- Brown Sugar and Honey (my fave)
- Lemon and Mint (another fave..)
- Mandarin and Mango
- Tumeric and Lemon
- Papaya and Lemon
The list is endless really.
You must keep in mind a few things before using a Body Scrub. Body Scrubs are abrasive and can be harsh to the skin if used too vigorously. Always use in a circular motion with an exfoliating cloth. I use my hands sometimes, but that is just me. I recommend that people with oily skin use Salt Scrubs, while people with sensitive, dry skin should use Sugar Scrubs. My absolute favorite is Sugar Scrub and very inexpensive too.
So guys, you don’t have to go to the spa to have amazing skin. Adopt a solid skincare routine and you are good to go. I don’t have money to go to the spa all the time and I know there are people like me out there, so don’t carry last! :). I hope this helps somebody.
